Synteny of V.dahliae and V.albo-atrum genomes

In our present study we have sequenced whole genomes of three mild and three lethal V. albo-atrum hop isolates obtained from three hop growing regions using Illumina technology. Bioinformatic analyses have been performed to de novo assemble the reference genome and reference assemble of another five genomes in order to compare genomes of mild and lethal strains for a determination of specific genomic regions in lethal strains. We anticipate the dissection of the pathotype genomes, in order to provide an insight into their genomic structure, which might explain the increased virulence of the lethal strain, enable the detection of virulence-associated factors and elucidate pathogenicity in Verticillium spp.
